Tipi country wedding inspired by the African savannah

If you always dreamed of an outdoorsy, open tipi bohemian wedding, get inspired by this beautiful styled shoot.

Photographer Caroline Opacic wanted to do a styled shoot inspired by Disney's Lion King, which made me giggle but I totally got what she meant. Planning and styling this shoot was a dream and everything came together so beautifully.

The African Savanah’s earthy colour palette gave this shoot a truly bohemian feel.

The venue was at the beautiful Brook Farm, Cuffley in Herefordshire. The farm has its own lake surrounded by vast meadows and woodland, just like an African watering hole beaming with nature. In the middle of the lake is a little island, big enough to set up a safari type open tipi picnic area, connected to the 'mainland' via a walkway perfect for an open-air ceremony.

Wicker furniture, a large rug, scattering of floor cushions, supplied by the wonderful Anthology Vintage Hire, and the abundance of incredible dry flowers, palm leaves, and giant pampas arrangements, supplied by the Your London Florist, gave the wedding picnic area its extraordinary lushness. A true bohemian summer wedding dream.

Our bride had a choice of two two-piece gowns created by the marvel that is Edmondson Bridal Couture and a beautiful eco raffia headdress and matching earrings by our eco accessory queen Becca at To Be Adorned.

The beautiful stationery was created by the super talented and eco-conscious Chloe at ChloeCreative1, nailing the brief to perfection with the clever intricate design, colours, and nod to Lion King the movie including Simba and Nala in the invites and menus

The ceremony was created on the edge of the island’s walkway, surrounded by water on both sides. Our celebrant Caroline delivered the ceremony by the vintage triangle arch adorned with lush dry florals and an impala skull.

The picnic area was transformed into a wedding feast, complete with peacock chairs and a sweetheart table set for two.

The evening festivities included dancing under the stars and toasting marshmallows by the fire pit.
