Happy New Year lovers!
Here's to a wedding planning year of love, happiness and Covid-free togetherness.
Let's see what the wedding fashion world has in store for you all this year, curated specially for you my colour-loving people.
So, the Pantone colour of the year is Very Peri aka periwinkle.
If the hues of periwinkle take your fancy, you can incorporate it into your wedding by going full-on lilac gown, as seen in the image above, in the groom's wear by adding pops of colour with a shirt, tie or bowtie, or add touches of it into your tablescape with the florals, candles, napkins and stationery. I'm on board!

Who said you got to have a white wedding dress? Colourful dresses are in and I'm loving it! Millia London has recently released the most stunning cloud-like dresses in every pastel hue imaginable, complementary to any skin tone. Not to mention how incredible you will photograph in one. If you decide to go for one, it can be the colour that dictates your overall colour palette.
GROOMSWEAR

Gorgeous colour-rich colour-lovingWhat's suits are in! No, you don't have to opt for the boring black or navy suit anymore. Finally, some good news for the grooms. Actually, what's even better, Gucci tailors these suits for all genders. We have seen gorgeous suits emerge on the scene in the last couple of years, everything from floral prints to stunning velvet suits in all colours. Also, to my utter delight, the 70s tailoring is BIG! I couldn't be happier.

Big floral installations are here to stay! What better way to enhance the aesthetic of your venue if not with flowers? From hanging floral clouds to arched ceremony backdrops, an amazing floral design will make your guests swoon with delight. Not to mention they make for incredible photo opportunities. Money well spent? I would say YES!

Big natural hairstyles are having a much-needed comeback, and we couldn't love them more. Conforming to neat bridal hair we often see in the big mags is so passe, not to mention rudely exclusive as it is simply not representative of all.

If you follow me on the gram you will know that I LOVE a statement headdress. In my opinion, it adds so much to your outfit. It completes the look and makes you feel like a goddess. If you can't shine like a star on your wedding day, when can you? It was really interesting to compare images with and without the headdress on - there was no competition on which stood out more. Go check out my wedding inspiration gallery. Every shoot had one.
HYBRID SUITS
Half-suit, half-ballgown

Gender-neutral tailoring = hybrid suits are one of my FAVE 2022 wedding trends!
A hybrid look that can incorporate details of a gown, a suit, a jacket and a skirt all in one – made for humans of all genders as seen on red carpets everywhere.
This is not new though. First seen in the 80s on the LGBTQIA black & brown drag scene (have you watched POSE?!) in New York, is reaching a wider audience.
At the helm of it all is the awe-inspiring Billy Porter who was the first to turn up at the Oscars in a half suit/half ballgown and made the world hyperventilate. (He is now the only reason I never miss any red-carpet TV coverage!)
Quick to follow were countless stars, like Lill Nas X, Harry Styles and Jared Leto to name a few. Huzzah!

SHORT WEDDING DRESSES + VEILS
I LOVE the short wedding dress + veil combo revival - but of course, I would, wouldn't I? I'm a retro freak.
This awesome promo shoot was created for the 2022 @mostcuriouswedfair, and when I saw it, it made me squeal with delight. Not only because it was the freshest coolest thing ever (which it was), but because I'm one of this year's exhibitors!
