There are several different wedding suppliers involved in a typical wedding, and each is responsible for different aspects of the wedding. Here is a breakdown of what each wedding supplier is responsible for:

1. Wedding Venue Responsibilities

The venue is responsible for providing the space where the wedding ceremony and reception will take place. They may also provide tables, chairs, linens, and other decor items. The venue coordinator and your wedding planner, if you have one, are responsible for coordinating with other suppliers to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

2. Wedding Caterer's Responsibilities

The caterer is responsible for providing food and drinks for the wedding reception. This includes everything from appetizers and entrees to desserts and drinks. They may also provide servers, bartenders, and other staff to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

3. Wedding Florist Responsibilities

The florist is responsible for providing, setting up, and taking down the floral arrangements and decor for the wedding ceremony and reception. This includes ceremony backdrops, bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces, and other floral decor items.

4. Wedding Photographer/Videographer Responsibilities

The photographer and videographer are responsible for capturing the special moments of the wedding day. They may take photos or videos of the ceremony, reception, and other events throughout the day.

5. Wedding Dj or Band Responsibilities

The DJ or band is responsible for providing music and entertainment for the wedding reception. They may also provide lighting, sound equipment, and other items to enhance the atmosphere of the reception.

6. Wedding Planner/Stylist/Coordinator Responsibilities

The wedding planner or coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the wedding planning process, from selecting vendors to managing the timeline on the day of the wedding. If they specialize in wedding design too (like us), they work closely with the couple to ensure that their vision for the wedding is realized.

7. Wedding Cake Baker Responsibilities

The cake baker is responsible for creating the wedding cake or other desserts for the reception. They may also provide cake stands, cake toppers, and other decor items.

8. Wedding Officiant Responsibilities

The officiant is responsible for conducting the wedding ceremony and making sure that all legal requirements are met. They may also provide guidance to the couple on writing their vows or selecting readings for the ceremony. If you opt to have a celebrant, they are solely responsible for the ceremony and although having a celebrant is incredible and very personal, you will still have to think about the legality as celebrants aren't legalized yet in England. If you don't mind popping into the registry office to sort the legal bit out first (or after), you will have a wonderful ceremony unique as you are.

9. Wedding Hair and Makeup Artist Responsibilities

The hair and makeup artist is responsible for creating the wedding day look for the bride and bridal party. They may also provide touch-ups throughout the day to ensure that everyone looks their best. Have your makeup trials before the wedding to make sure you love it and have chosen the right hair and makeup artist.

In conclusion

Each wedding supplier has a specific role and responsibility in making the wedding day special and memorable. By working together and communicating effectively, the suppliers can ensure that everything runs smoothly and that the couple has the wedding of their dreams. If you rather hand the organization role to a pro, hire a wedding coordinator so you can have a stress-free day.
