Children of the Revolution - glam-rock wedding inspiration
Updated: Sep 8

This is how you do a Marc Bolan-inspired glam-rock wedding.
The concept for this shoot was dreamed up by Caroline Opacic and given to me to style and coordinate back in early July. This was probably the most exciting styling I've been for a long time.
With full permission to go big, I did, and the result was stunning.
A carefully selected team of suppliers was assembled, and all of them gave their absolute best to make this shoot awesome.
After seeing Caroline's images, who wouldn't want to go all out and have the most Rock 'n' Roll wedding in this magical setting?!
We were lucky to have the most incredible bridalwear by Bowen Dryden:
1. A stunning silver sequin slip dress:

2. A super cool, white, tailored trouser suit with a silver sequin stripe:

3. High wasted silver sequin hotpants (cheeky) with a bustier corset top and an incredible sheer cape:

The headdresses were created by the super talented @bombinistudio which gave our gorgeous bride Jen the superstar look we were after.
Accessories (earrings and garter) were on point by @tobeadrned.

Those silver platform shoes were (if you can believe it) from ASOS!!
Our groom Adam wore two stunning suit jackets by @anothonyslondon, and a vintage top hat with that recognisable flower tucked in, giving a nod to Marc Bolan’s 70s glam-rock style.

I’m not gonna lie, this was a dream styling job. Who doesn’t like all that 70s over-the-top glitter and glamour? It’s when the rebellious youth was born, stuck the middle finger to the traditional, and made their own rules.
It was very obvious why we'd chosen Marden Park Mansion (a private school). It was such a perfect venue for this shoot or for any Rock ‘n’ Roll wedding for that matter. You Gemmagroom’sdon’t have to go traditional in a traditional venue. I always loved mixing the trad and non-trad. It can be so cool if done properly.
We set up a ceremony/chill-out room scene in one of the wood-paneled rooms. The Rock ‘n’ Roll feel was accomplished with fantastic furniture and props by @bohoandbloompropshire;
Lush velvet sofa surrounded by candle holders, various size disco balls, and vintage rugs.

A fabulous hanging floral installation was created by @irisandcoflowers with a ‘Love Rocks’ neon sign. Gemma’s smashed the brief with her 70s florals, from the installation, bouquet, grooms’ buttonhole, car décor, and the sweetheart table dressing.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll lifestyle was reflected in the red vintage convertible, the sweetheart table with peacock chairs out on the lawn, the vintage fringed piano shawl as a table cover, incredibly lush table scaping, a vintage sword for sabrage (champagne cork popping) and cake cutting, accessories, cake and stationery to match.

If you dream of a glamorous Rock ‘n’ Roll wedding, get in touch. I can help you make your wedding dreams a glitterball reality.
I’ll leave you with Jay’s film. A little teaser on what your own wedding could look like.
Enjoy lovers!
